The the beauty of the Palisades was the sense of community was that there were people who really wanted to foster connectedness and to facilitate ways for people to come together. Um, and so that would be my my dream is that it maintains that character. I liked that there were multiple generations. I like that there were houses of different ages and stages. Can people stay connected and have that same, you know, love and watching out for each other's families and such? And one of my, my favorite stories of being in the Palisades is that there was a back in the day when you had when you took pictures with a camera and you had to have them printed. There was Harrington's camera, and everybody went to Harrington's camera and got their pictures printed. And Cathy Harrington at the time we would, you know, go in there. She was the daughter of the the man who had founded it. And we knew her. She knew our kids. We'd all be in and out of there. And one day I saw her and she says, oh, did you know that your son is walking around the Palisades with a girl? And I'm like, oh, yeah. They didn't cross sunset, did they? But people are keeping an eye on each other. And you, you know, you just know everybody, you know, people's kids. And even if my kids didn't go to Paulie schools, you know, they went out to private schools, but they still, you know, know everybody, you know, everybody in the Palisades, you know, all the kids in the Palisades, you know, your neighbors. Yeah. Yeah, I'd say both. Um, and as I've mentioned in the other stations, um, we had had a Friday night dinner group that is primarily Palestinians. There's one lady who's not in the Palisades, and it started during Covid and we've maintained it. And, um, we all live in different parts of the Palisades. One was in the alphabet streets. We were in the Huntington. Um, another family was over in El Medio Bluffs area, somebody on sunset, you know, kind of all over the place. And, um, we all, you know, we were Palestinians. We weren't Huntington Palisades or Alphabet Palisades. We were Palestinians. And going shopping at the local grocery stores. I'd always run into somebody there. It didn't matter where they lived in the Palisades. Sometimes they were coming in from Santa Monica to go shopping here. So yeah. Yes. And it's been the one thing not not the one thing, but it's been a real major connection. And as I was sitting between waiting for this, I got a text from one of the women at dinner last night and, you know, some comments and, you know, support and stuff. And it was like, that's it's been huge. It's been huge. Yeah. Well, we're we're all mostly on the West side. We go from Westchester to Beverly Hills to Santa Monica. So kind of all over. So we try and pick places here and there. Um, sometimes we'll go like, we went to a Mexican place the other night and was like, oh, that was way too noisy. We were yelling at each other, not going back there. Um, but yeah, we just if somebody comes up with a suggestion and that's where we go. Yeah. Um, a number of people, um. And one of the people in our group is Sue Cole, who's the, you know, the the president of the community council. So we get all the gossip from her. Yeah. She doesn't make our dinners as often because she's the one in Westchester. So she's it's harder for her and she's very, very busy. But we have a text group. And so she's always keeping us apprised of things. And I'll watch this and read this article and so forth. So it's good to have somebody with their ear on the ground in your group. Yeah. So you understand the connections in the community and um, just the, the ardor people have for maintaining that. I think that that's. Hard to find in Los Angeles to find that sense of community. Different pockets do have it. Um, and, uh. I wish that sense of community for many more parts of Los Angeles. I wish that we could all find that, um, well, because we're renting and it feels temporary. It's harder. Uh, but no, on the street that we're living, we're in Brentwood Glen. So, um, we probably were at the same weddings together for their kids, so. Yeah. So you can find it, I think we're not.
