Still living in Altadena. Um, because I've been in my apartment, I just keep sneezing a lot, and I think it might have something that's not good in the apartment still. So I'm hoping we can go somewhere that's not toxic at all. And, um, I hope there's a yard, because it's been really hard. I've, um. I've been in different people's houses, and I smell dogs, and I would sometimes pee, but then they would kick us out, and then I was like, where's my friends? Where's the other dogs? And then we go to another place and I, it would be lovely to have a yard in the future, too, because I saw when I was displaced that there were, you know, some of the places had yards. And it'd be great if they have other dogs because it's really nice to play. And, you know, it's a little bit scary because sometimes there's coyotes nearby and my mom has to pick me up and run because, you know, so, so far it's it's it's good. My mom got a whistle so she can blow if there's any coyotes nearby. But it's been a little scary because sometimes she picks me up and runs with me. So I'm just hoping that, um, you know, we can be in one place for a while and in a place that's safe in the future. So that's what I'm imagining from my dog. We we did recently realize that we could go to the main library, and it's just full of beautiful flowers and plants, places to walk. Um, so definitely, um, we don't have a dog park in Altadena, but it was also, you know, to have like a local coffee shop on Mariposa again, where we could go and meet people, meet strangers, meet friends, because that place burned down. So that was, you know, it's nice to have a place to you hang out, you know, and sometimes we'd go to Fair Oaks Burger and that was affected for a long time. And so was, uh, the Grocery Outlet where I used to shop. So I think you're asking about aspirations for the future. I hope I can be, um, as generous and kind to other people as people have been to me, um, including organizations which sometimes you think of as more as businesses. But I ran into at least one organization with a heart, um, which is called a Sense of Home. Maybe I'll be volunteering there because it was so harmful. The volunteers put together a whole, um, living space for me with a desk and a couch and kitchen things, a little table, even a lazy Susan. But they were so sweet. And they sat and talked with me and they sent me a little note. Anyway, I hope. And then the people that you know, because I was in 11 different places since the fires and some of that is because not everybody wanted to take in me with a dog. Um. I hope I can be as hospitable as my placement. Number two was where the person said, just use everything. Eat the food. Use whatever you see here. I mean, that was really lovely. At some point, I can find a place that feels really like home. Because, um, right now, even though this might not sound so positive, If I have. I gave away a lot of my stuff, but there was some things that I just couldn't let go of. There was writing projects, creative books that I was working on that are in cartons and, um. Uh, I'm trying to think about other things. So my my place, I'm afraid, still has toxicity in it. So I don't feel totally comfortable including the carpet, which my the property management does not want to, um, let me take up the rug or or replace the rug, but they said they would do it in 2 or 3 months, and I'm just hoping to find a place in the future that doesn't bankrupt me, because in LA, you know, the prices for rentals are really high, and I have a daughter in Torrance and the price for rentals are really high there. So I'm trying to balance out me that likes living in a kind of rural area, but would kind of prefer to be away from Altadena for 2 or 3 years until it's really clear what's going on, because they recently found asbestos in the air. Um, the scientists and that's really not good. And there's like, um, sometimes they're finding chemicals even after people get their place remediated. So. I, I know that this might not sound so positive, but I'm hoping to find a safe place for my my dog roomie who's been having these reverse sneezes more since we went back to the apartment.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://lapl.aviaryplatform.com/collections/3578/collection_resources/164566/file/299675#t=3.76,370.44"}]},{"id":"https://lapl.aviaryplatform.com/collections/3578/collection_resources/164566/file/299675/index/90434","type":"AnnotationPage","label":{"en":["Auto-generated Index (2025-10-29 20:35:32) [Index]"]},"items":[{"id":"https://lapl.aviaryplatform.com/collections/3578/collection_resources/164566/file/299675/index/90434/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"supplementing","body":[{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Discomfort and Health Concerns in Current Living Situation","format":"text/plain","label":{"en":["Title"]}}],"target":"https://lapl.aviaryplatform.com/collections/3578/collection_resources/164566/file/299675#t=0.0,33.0"},{"id":"https://lapl.aviaryplatform.com/collections/3578/collection_resources/164566/file/299675/index/90434/annotation/3","type":"Annotation","motivation":"supplementing","body":[{"type":"TextualBody","value":"The speaker describes ongoing discomfort in their Altadena apartment, marked by frequent sneezing and suspicions of lingering toxicity.
