We purchased that home when, um, I was pregnant with our first child, Barrett, and it was our family home. Um, and, uh, probably about 3:00 the night of the fires, we left because we lost power and went to a hotel. And then my husband went back the next morning and discovered that our home was gone. So there are so many lessons. Obviously, I think there's kind of the boring business side about understanding your insurance policies and keeping those updated and, um, keeping digital records of all your tax returns and property titles and, uh, record keeping of everything that's in your home and all of that. But then there's also the personal side, which is, I think for us, just recognizing how important our community has been and how important it is to support each other during hard times, and that you can still find humor and joy even in a really rough time. As a state. I think that it seems that there are constant mistakes made with like power poles and reaction time from the fire department, or how well the city is prepared, or how much water pressure there is. So I'm just hoping at some point the government will clue in and really pay attention to those things, because it seems to be coming at a huge cost that they're not correcting past mistakes. I think it's just a time that you really take stock in what's important And, you know, thankfully we didn't lose any family members or there weren't any injuries. And at the end of the day, you know, I miss some of our material things, but I'm very thankful that we're all together and, you know, hopefully have the opportunity to return to our home.
