And so we always felt like we were under threat potentially. So we've had an evacuation plan for like ten years. Like I had when we'd kind of done like little fire drills with our kids when they were younger. Um, and so, I mean, in some ways, we were mentally prepared to potentially lose our house, um, to restore you still never think it's going to happen to you. Um, but most of the community had no strategic plan. Uh, no sense of that even being a possibility. Um, and I feel like they people would have been better prepared to evacuate, even, like, um, I don't know, I don't even, I don't, I don't it's so hard to answer that question because we're still as somebody who's lived through it. It's still so close. I don't it's I'm not sure I'm able to reflect at this point on lessons learned. I also feel like the, um, there hasn't been any like, uh, official report on what went wrong and what happened. And so I don't feel like the like LA County fire and the other folks who were supposed to protect us have actually said what went wrong. So I don't they don't have lessons learned yet either. Um, um, so we moved to Altadena in 2012 when our kids were really little. Like, my kids are like your guys age. Um, and we moved there because we wanted to have a place to raise our family. We wanted to be in a place that was incredibly diverse. Um, I love Altadena because of all the different kinds of people who are there and the families who have been there for generations. Families like ours who came more recently. Um, my kids went to Odyssey Charter School, which is K through eight charter school in the neighborhood, and most of the families from there lived in the neighborhood. And they were our were, you know, like the people we grew up with and the people that my kids grew up with. And, um, Altadena is the kind of place where everybody like, you walk your dog and everybody says, hi, everybody talks to you. Everybody's friendly. Um, people behind us were raising horses. You'd see like, guys walking, like walking their horses down the street. And, I mean, it was the Mexican family and wearing huge sombreros and singing like you'd see somebody walking their goat down the street. Um.
