So over time, it I think the coolest thing to watch was just how it was changing when we first moved in. I mean, there was a grocery store. There was like not really anywhere to eat or buy groceries. And um, it just really slowly over time started to get really developed, which was really cool to watch. Uh, and we also saw a lot of younger families moving in, which I thought was like such a good sign. Like, it felt like a lot of growth was happening. And then the second I think thing that I remember fondly about our community in particular, the one our small neighborhood that we lived in, was that it was very walkable. I mean, especially during the Covid lockdown, our kids were just on their bikes, you know, going to friends houses, walking to the pool. And so it was just like that idyllic neighborhood. Oh, absolutely. I mean, it was almost like a storybook because our, our kids were they were just like in the streets every afternoon. And for whatever reason, signal was not good. Um, but even then, people were really trying to keep tabs and say, oh, you could stay with us, or you can come here, or did you evacuate? And are you, you know, just trying to share information. So you did feel like a community rally in that way. So when we were evacuated and then the next day we were sitting in the arroyo and that was getting evacuated. And so I sent Hannah and my girls to our other place in Las Vegas. So they were gone. But I stayed back because I, my parents who live in Altadena, so I was trying to find them situated. So I was the first one to go back to the home right after it burned. And like it was very emotional, obviously, to actually see it. And our neighbors who were also checking on their homes were there and we were just I just remember just like hugging and crying and like sharing and just, you know, we had a new neighbor who were just becoming friends with. And he was like holding me up. And, you know, because his house was okay. But he can we can feel each other's pain very deeply. And then we had another neighbor who were very close with for like 12 years, and they were at the end of the block and they were just so heartbroken for us and I don't know. So we have moved out of the community and, um, but we're still very close with all the friends we had made there over the past 12 years. And we keep hearing from them that the ones that whose houses have survived and are living there again, like how empty it is right now. But there's also a sense of, I need to move on and hurry up and kind of build that sense of home for them before they go to college. So that was my mindset when I wanted to move. It had nothing to do with that. I didn't love it or that I don't want to see it rise again, I do. Um, but at the same time, I felt because we had the resources, we we decided to just make the move right away. So we, we are in a new home and building a new community, I guess, for ourselves. yeah. I mean, my prediction is that it's gonna sort of take off from where it was. Um, I think that it's an interesting opportunity because this area is really hard to move into if you're a young family and you don't have great resources or a family that's established here or money. It's really hard to move in this area. But unfortunately, it took this disaster.
